Future Aspirations

On Wednesday the pt england seniors had some guests coming to the senior block. Then Levi’s dad came along and he spoke to us about his speech. He told about how he was when he was young. First he said he was on what now on the olden day then he pretended that he was Valerie Adams. After that he told this word that said “To Miharo Hoki” that means “You are Amazing.

After Mr Samulis talk it was Paulas turn. Paula was talking about taking a risk. He told us a story about Swimming and that he drowned. Here is the story. Paula hated to swim. In his primary school it was athletics day. When he swimmed he ran out of energy. Then he put his feet onto the the bottom then he walks the whole way to the finish line.

After when Paula finished his Speech about when he used to swim. It was Amelia Turns to speech she said that she is a cloth designer she makes lot and lots of design of cloths.

And she does new styles.

When it was time for them to leave we sang the school song and said “thanks for coming”.

“Do you know how to make friendship”?. “Well I will tell you but in my way”. Friendship is making friends and being polite to others if you be kind to them they will be kind to you. if you don’t they won’t be friends with you.

When you go to another school there is lots of different kind of ways to make friends. First you have to say something nice and polite, ask them for their names, respecting

them, that is how you can make. If know you know them very well they will know you too. if you are new they will ask what's your name and where did you just come from “I will tell them that I just came from another school”.

Friendship is all about making friends and helping them if they need help. After when you help them you should  take care of them. After when they feel that they are alright then they will be fine.

In America  there was a problem with the locals. In Hawaii there was a Volcano that erupted in the part of USA. It Threatened the whole town. The Lava destroyed the properties that people owned and the people got upset.

The emergency team Police , Ambulance and the Firefighters went to the scene and check if anyone got hurt or stuck and dead witch will be sad. The lava was 1,650 degrees F (900 C).

The lava flow advanced about 10 yards an hour towards pahos village. The valancos name is  Kilauea. The lava went into Pahos Village. It went into a private property which no one was allowed to go in.

Chris Empathy Explanation

What would you do if the world was not showing empathy.?  

“What I will do is change the world to showing empathy and making everybody be kind and careful. making them be safe and careful. If someone is not helping others I will go up to them and remind them to help others and show empathy.

In term 1 we were learning about Empathy which is about putting yourself into someone else’s shoes. There are many different ways that you can show empathy. When you see someone crying you can help them. If you show empathy you are respecting other and making your friends happy. If you hit one of your friends that means you are not showing respect and when you sort it out that person can come back and say “sorry”.

When you are in class and one of your team mates needs help he can go ask someone that is helpful and will help them. If you’re playing a game and someone comes and ask if I can play

and the other person shouts at the and says NO!. that means the other person will go crying and someone helps them out and tells them that they made her cry that means they should all play.

Are goals for empathy is to help others that help you back that you don’t like as a friend. If you're with someone playing and then another kid comes and asks if he is allowed to play.  Then the boy was happy and played.

Immersion Assembly

On Monday the whole of Pt England came to the hall for Art Attack. That was our topic for this term. It was interesting because the teachers performed their items from team 1, team 2, team 3, team 4, and team 5. Team 1's item was dancing while Mr Jacobson was painting a picture with black colour paint. Sudden;y their item was finished but Mr Jacobson was still painting.

Team 4 was one of my favourite because Mr Somerville made me laugh. I laughed so much that I couldn't stop laughing because his voice was really funny. Miss Ouano's voice was nearly the same as Mr Somerville. She was acting as Pablo Picasso/ They were all characters  Fatu Fe’uu,Vincent Vah Gogh, Pablo Picasso, Monet, Goerge Seurat and George Straight.

I said to my friend Wiremu “I can’t wait till we see our teacher's one”. Then Mr Burt said “its time for team 5” when our teacher had to up stage and do their item first a song came up then and video was playing then they were painting. In the middle of watching the video and the painting, the painting was nearly done. When they were finished they turned it around then the pictures that they drew was Mr Jacobson and Mrs Jaman and Mr Burt.

Kahurangi

On the last day of the Matariki Festival there was a group of five Maori people who came to perform. As they were dancing they were making funny facial expressions. They were brave enough to dance with their hearts. Their powerful voices made me want to stomp my legs. As they sang all of their harmonies were perfectly pitched. After that they did some talking and they asked for volunteers, three warriors who were brave enough to copy the words that this man chanted and they had to do the moves.

It was a bit easy but then it became difficult so there were funny parts.Then this man sang this song.

This is a pattern with matchsticks.We worked out that to find out how many you need per triangle the rule for the pattern is (Nx2) +1=.

Diving is a sport that includes jumping and falling. your distance could be high or small there is competitions when you jump you can do twist and summer scouts. Your body precision has to be straight and feet touching at all times to make a bigger splash.

The judges make the points how ever does the highest splash. you can give them 1 point 2 point 3point 4point 5 point 6 point 7 point 8 point 9 10

point if you make a small splash you will get small point like 1 point or 2 point it will be the judges choice.         

It about olympics so you can win but if you lose you can keep striving. When you win you get a golden medal. because it not people that choose it the judges do from the distance because they want the perfect shaped people.

Drumming

Today at assembly was so loud, because there was a battle of 6 on 1 Cook Island drummers vs   one man, Brent to see who was the best at drumming. First he made this kind of beat but then he went better and more awesome. After that it was the Cook Island’s turn. Their one was so loud that I couldn’t hear my friend next to me.

Next it was both of them that had to play at the same time. The Palangi man’s drum wasn't good enough because his drums weren't loud enough.

Cold Day

Today outside it was cold and freezing. As I was going to walk I could feel my legs starting to go numb. I saw a car in a driveway that was very icy and this man had to put hot water on it so the engine will start when I was on my way to school I saw some grass that was had ice on it

and then I people with a barrel and there was wood and fire.

When I got to school my hands were cold like my friends hand he put it on my face and was very cold so when we went inside there was a heter that warmed up my body when the bell

went everyone went to sit in the ground but I didn't so my friend told me to come and sit in

the mat but I was still cold.                                                                                                       

The Leaning Tower Of Pisa

The leaning tower of pisa,in italy is famous because it is tilted. An inscription on the right hand corner above the entrance the construction began in 1173

It was build to have bells, as a bell tower for the cathedral, to wake up the town.

When  they got to the 3 flour the tower started to tilt. Because  the subsoil was getting weak so it   

sunk. And that is why they call it the leaning tower.

Team 4

Beside the team 5 block construction began in the middle of the holidays.It is for the team 4 class rooms.First they cleared all the old buildings and took it away to  the trash so now they are making the new building. This week they started constructing the foundations. They put steel reinforcement inside the concrete block inside.

The Firefighter

Six firefighters walked 303 km from Waitangi to Auckland. As they crossed the Harbour Bridge they saw an illuminated beacon guiding them to Auckland City. They were raising money for leukemia.

When the six firefighters arrived at the Sky Tower they took part on the 10th Annual firefighter Sky Tower stair challenge.The challenge is about 700 firefighters that push themselves to climb 1103 steps and 51 storeys each one of had full protective gear they had a oxygen masks and tanks.

Feeling weak and physically drain. As they climbed to the top they had heavy breathing and their shoulders was aching. As they reach their destination they were proud. When some of them made it one of them was overheated. when they made it some of them can finally take of the gear.

Sound

A world without any sound would be strange and silent. We wouldn’t be able to enjoy music and people would find it difficult to communicate. It would be boring. Sound helps us in many ways, but what is sound?

                                           

When you hit a metal bar it vibrates then goes to your inner ear, travels to your ear drums and converts into a electrical signals and to your brain.

When music is played loud, the speaker vibrates and goes to your ear and makes your eardrum vibrate. Sound waves can be different to another there is a high pitch and low pitch,

the point is the peak and the bottom is the trough.

Sound works by anything like a bang on table, tapping, knocking, all sorts of  things that make sound. We can not hear sound in space because there is no air molecules to vibrate.
